Traditional crafting is something we hold on to here at Robinson. This rings through our Signature pieces and will do for years to come.
This has come from a true passion and understanding of our ancestral British craftsmanship, and years of observation around pieces of furniture we admire. That’s why we not only want keep these beautiful, timeless editions alive in our new pieces, but we also bring them back from the dead!
BEFORE
Leather is one of many specialities of ours and that’s why we decided to use British leather for this incredible Victorian restoration.
In British leather, the bovine is reared specifically for it's skin, rather than its meat, therefore we believe it to be the finest in the world and ideal for this honourable. To compliment this quintessential refinery, the client chose a stunning hand dyed Blonde Walnut finish. But, as fine as the leather may be, let’s not forget what's underneath. We were able to retain the original horse tail fillings, along with the hand sewn coil sprung seat, back and arms during the restoration, a proverbial nod of approval to the craftsman of yesterday. Sitting comfortably on hand turned and stained beechwood feet, we topped off the handle of the leather with a hand wax, an extra nudge towards perfection.
AFTER
The restoration took four weeks to complete and is looking better than ever.
