If you’re looking at this item, you already know how special it is. A superb howard and sons sofa to be lovingly restored.
Well known for being the principle furnisher for the Queen Mother during the early 20thC, Howard & Sons arguably held the most desired crafting house in the world during the turn of the 20thC. In 1935 the the well established decorators Lenygon and Morant took over the name of Howard & Sons with the business address being given as 31 Old Burlington St (Lenygon and Morants premesis since 1909). Lenygon and Morant later moved to South Audley St where from 1954 which is when this beautiful sofa was originally crafted.
The cushions are filled with 100% down, supremely comfortable, whilst the the inners of the sofa include the mandatory loose coil sprung seat. The frame is solid as you’d expect, and all the original labels are fixed to the base. Finally, the sofa is finished on the original Howard and Sons brass castors.
The price includes full restoration including reupholstery in British hand dyed leather or a linen of your choice.
